Capsicum Curry/Simple kodamilagai kootu


Ingredients:-

Capsicum - 2 cut into small pieces (any color)
Onion - 1 Chopped
Tomato -2 chopped
Cumin seed - 1/4 tsp
Garlic paste - 1 tsp
Chilly pdr. - 1/2 tsp
Coriander pdr - 1/2 tsp
Cumin pdr - 1/2 tsp
Turmeric pdr- 1/4 tsp
Tamarind - small piece
Oil - 2 tsp
Salt to required
Jaggery 2 pinch
Cut coriander leaves - 1tsp
Curry leaves - few

Method:-


Soak tamarind in hot water and extract thick juice from it. Strain and keep aside

Heat oil in pan add cumin seed, onion, curry leaves.

When onion turn transparent add garlic, fry till raw flavour goes.

Add tomatoes, stir continuously till it becomes soft. 

Add cumin pdr, chilly pdr, coriander pdr, turmeric pdr, capsicum, salt and little water, cook  till capsicum become soft, after add tamarind extract and jaggery.  Adjust salt and spice level according to your taste.  Cook for 2 min.

Serve hot garnish with cut coriander leaves.

This is very tasty side dish  for  Rice or Chappathi
