Broad beans/Avarakkai with mutton curry


Ingredients:-

Bone Mutton - 100 gm
Broad beans(Avarakkai) - 250 gm  
Onion - 1 Chopped
Tomato - 2 nos. Chopped
Green chilli - 2 nos. (optional)
Ginger Paste - 1 1/2 tsp
Garlic paste -  2 tsp
Oil - 3 tbl. sp
Turmeric pdr - 1/4tsp
Chilli pdr. - 1tsp
Cumin pdr. - 1tsp
Coriander pdr. - 1/2 tsp
Grind coconut - 1/4 cup
Oil - 3 tbl.sp
Cinnamon - 1 inch
Cloves - 4
Garam Masala - 2 pinch
Salt as required





Method:-

Clean and wash mutton and keep aside.

Clean and chop broad beans into one inch piece and keep aside.

Heat oil in pressure cooker. Add cloves,cinnamon and then add onion. Fry till it transparent.

Add one tea spoon of ginger, garlic paste. fry till raw smell goes out 

Add tomatoes. cook till it become soft.

Add turmeric pdr, mutton, salt. mix well . Cook till  mutton gives some juice. Add little water. Close the pressure cooker and keep the weight. cook for 2 whistles and reduced flame completely and  cook for 10 min. 

Once pressure is released, open the lid, add broad beans, chilli pdr, cumin pdr, coriander pdr, remaining ginger garlic paste, green chilli, salt  mix well. cook till the vegetable tender.

Add grind coconut and one or two pinch of garam masala mix well. cook for 5 min.

Adjust the spice level according to your taste.

Garnish with coriander leaves.

Now ready to serve tasty broad bean with mutton curry  with rice, roti, chappathi

Variation:-

You can also  substitute Nookal(kohlrabi) or  cabbage  in the place of broad beans
